Design and development of the branding (logo) and main website for the OpenAIRE (Open Access Infrastructure for Research in Europe) project. 2010.

makebelieve design & consulting designed and developed the main website for the OpenAIRE (Open Access Infrastructure for Research in Europe) project, a three-years project funded under the 7^th Framework Programme of the European Commission, which represents the work of 38 partner organisations from 27 European countries on implementing Open Access on a pan-European scale.

In addition to the development of the project's website, makebelieve design & consulting and collaborators were responsible for the interface and interaction design, visual identity, usability and technical support on interface elements for the OpenAIRE platform at large.

The OpenAIRE branding was designed by Antonis Makriyannis.

OpenAIRE was officially launched on December 2, 2010 at Ghent University in Belgium, in the presence of the Vice-President of the European Commission, Mrs. Neelie Kroes. See the opening video made for the OpenAIRE launch event by Antonis Makriyannis.
